Interviewer: “Do you hope that one day we can work in a nation, in a country, in a world, in an industry where people don’t see sexuality but rather talent?
Charice: “I believe that someday it’ll happen. Sure, it’s hard right now but I believe that someday we can all go out and work as equals. That’s why when they say, “Are you gay?” [my response is] “Why are you straight?” It’s the same thing.”
Proud to see that it isn’t just her talent that’s world class but her mindsets as well. I think it was a good interview by Boy Abunda. He handled it well and the intro he did was sensitive, smart and concise.
However, I dislike how “admit” is used in the article. Quoting a friend “She decided to come out. She opened up about being a lesbian. Language means something, and the media is using it wrong right now.”
Here’s a different, tongue in cheek article that came out (pun very much intended thank you) before her big coming out interview. It was written by a good friend of hers about her birthday party.
